Exports to Kenya are liable to certification
As of July 1st, 2005 the Pre-Shipment Inspection program for the Republic of Kenya has ended.
Instead, under notice issued by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), with effect from 1st July 2005, all products destined for Kenya must demonstrate conformity to recognised standards in order to clear customs. The compliance to KEBS requirements can be demonstrated by presenting Test Certificate from a recognised accredited laboratory, or from any conformity assessment body recognised by the International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA).
SGS is pleased to advise of their accreditation to provide this service and may be contacted for advice.
