SGS Lab in Tuapse reconfirmed its sugar testing capabilities
The SGS Agricultural Laboratory in Tuapse successfully completed the Raw Cane Sugar Test No 338 conducted by the Sugar Association of London. SGS Tuapse has been the only Russian laboratory to take part in this Programme.
The Sugar Association of London was established in 1882. The Association aims at providing for the proper conduct of the Raw Sugar Trade. The Association is responsible for the framing of the Rules and Regulations for the International Raw Sugar Trade which are used by the majority of international companies trading raw sugar.
To achieve worldwide efficiency in the analysis of raw sugar, the Association has been conducting a Raw Cane Sugar Testing Programme, and nowadays there are over thirty laboratories and Chemists from all over the world (Australia, Argentina, Brazil, UK, India, Japan, Portugal, Thailand etc) taking part.
Every quarter each participant receives a sample of raw cane sugar, taken from a cargo of sugar delivered to London and provides polarisation and moisture results. Those results are then compared against the outturn result in London.
The SGS facility in Tuapse has been regularly participating in the Testing Programme by the Sugar Association if London, starting by 2002.
