Renault plant in Russia certified as compliant to ISO 14001
After certification of AvtoFramos, 100% of Renault industrial sites are ISO 14001 certified.
100% of Renault industrial sites are now ISO 14001 certified. Through wide-scale implementation of network-based environmental management practices, ISO 14001 certification now extends to 100% of Renault industrial sites and industrial subsidiaries worldwide. The AvtoFramos site located in Moscow (Russia) came under Renault group consolidation in 2005 and became the last Renault group site to obtain ISO 14001 certification, in April 2008. Efforts here focused primarily on personnel education in environmental matters.
Renault eco² approach demonstrates the Group’s progress in terms of respecting the environment. Over the last few years, Renault has been working to reduce the ecological impacts of its vehicles over their lifecycle, from their design phase. Renault eco² approach implies “the implementation of an environmental management system at all Renault sites through standards and ISO 14001 certification”.
Successful ISO 14001 certification illustrates a commitment to continuous improvement and to reducing the environmental impact of business activities. It is the role of an independent certification body to assess the quality of an environmental management system based on the ISO 14001 standard. AvtoFramos was audited by experts of SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian subsidiary of SGS – the largest global independent certification body accredited to certify according to the ISO 14001 standard.
