SGS Wins a Tender to Provide Geo-chemical Services for ZAO Severstal-resurs
The geochemical laboratory of SGS Vostok Ltd branch in Chita has won the tender to provide geo-chemical services for ZAO Severstal-resurs. The tender bidders were a number of laboratories from the central part of Russia and Moscow, as well as several laboratories of foreign companies. Wardell Armstrong LLP, an independent auditing and engineering consultancy specializing in environmental development and management, was expressly invited to assess and investigate the capabilities of the bidders. The auditors’ verdict was unanimously in favor of SGS Vostok Ltd Chita branch.
The Chita geochemical laboratory is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment which are considered vital for conducting a substantial volume of sample testing, large-scale assay testing, optico-emission ICP analysis, atomic absorption analysis, LECO (carbon/sulfur) and classical chemical analyses of gold, silver, platinum group metals, non-ferrous metals, rock-forming oxides, trace and rare earth elements. The laboratory is ready to carry out over one million analyses per annum.
Severstal-resurs will be sending samples for testing from its deposit in South Yakutia. The order was placed in 2009, and is Russia’s largest order for metallic minerals exploration.
