SGS Opens Food Testing Lab in Moscow
SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian subsidiary of SGS Group, is pleased to announce the opening of the new Food Testing Laboratory Center in Moscow, which is a structural division of SGS.
The testing laboratory is accredited by the Federal Technical Regulation and Metrology Agency for technical competence and independence (Accreditation Certificate РОСС.RU. 0001. 21ПШ27, dated July 28, 2009). The scope of accreditation includes: food products and raw materials (meat, dairy, fishing, bread and baking goods, oil and fat, confectionery, sugar, winemaking and starch industries; food concentrates, apiculture products, etc.); products from the perfume, toiletry, and oil and fat industries; and water.
The laboratory carries out the testing of products to ensure their compliance with quality and safety measures stipulated in regulatory documents. Being an independent entity, all testing carried out in the lab are objective and neutral. The test records, pursuant to the state-recognized type of testing, are official and valid for issuing certificates of conformity.
The scope of work and services performed at the laboratory include: organoleptic and physicochemical analyses (mycotoxins, pesticides, toxic substances, radionuclids, nitrosamines, antibiotics and others), as well as microbiological and radiation safety of products. The laboratory applies state-of-the-art techniques such as gas chromatography, highly effective liquid chromatography, atomic absorption spectroscopy with flame, electro-thermal ionizations, and enzyme immunoassay.
