ASTON has been Awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Certificate
The Quality Management System of the Morozovsk plant for production of vegetable oils (the Morozovsk subsidiary of ASTON) has been certified under the ISO 9001:2008 international standard. The certification scope covers the following company activities: development, extraction, refining, packaging, storage and dispatch of vegetable oils and seed expellers.
Between October and December 2009, experts from SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian subsidiary of the SGS Group, conducted the audit at the Morozovsk plant. As a result of the audit, SGS issued the certificate of conformity under UKAS accreditation.
“The certificate issued by a recognized international certification body, the SGS Group, proves that the production process of ASTON is under permanent control. This is an additional guarantee of ASTON food products’ sustainable quality and a strong argument in favor of our products in the eyes of our consumers” stated the General Director of ASTON, Vadim Vikulov. “In February 2010, mandatory certification of food products will be cancelled and the voluntary certification of Morozovsk plant’s Quality Management System, and its compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 international standard, will boost our products’ competitiveness in the market and strengthen our company’s image”.
Alexander Kuznetsov, South Russia Branch Manager of SGS, noted: “SGS Agricultural Services has been working with ASTON for more than 10 years, providing grain and seed expellers’ inspection services. Now our cooperation has become even closer since ASTON chose SGS for the certification of their Quality Management System”.
