SGS Provides Conformity Assessment for Cirque du Soleil in Russia
From October – December 2009, the legendary Cirque du Soleil presented its fantastic show “Varekai” in Moscow under the Grand Chapiteau at the Luzhniki Stadium. With almost 4,000 employees from over 40 different countries, including 1,000 artists, Cirque du Soleil provides high-quality artistic entertainment. Since its creation in 1984, Cirque du Soleil has thrilled more than 90 million spectators in over two hundred different cities on five continents.
As a matter of policy, Cirque du Soleil puts a lot of emphasis on conformity with international and local safety regulations. According to the spokesperson of Cirque du Soleil, “Health and safety are integrated in the core beliefs of the entire range of our company's operations. Cirque has undertaken to position itself as the entertainment industry benchmark in terms of health and safety.“
In order to meet Russian safety regulations, Cirque du Soleil awarded SGS Industrial Services the contract to provide conformity assessment before the beginning of the performance. SGS assisted Cirque du Soleil in proving the show’s compliance with relevant safety regulations in Russia.
