Minsk Automobile Plant Certified under ISO 9001:2008
On May 24, the General Director of the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) Alexander Borovskiy was awarded with SGS certificates testifying MAZ’ Quality Management System’s compliance with ISO 9001:2008.
The certification decision was taken as a result of the audit conducted in April 2010 by the international team of SGS auditors from Moldova, Poland and Belarus. Finally, SGS issued two certificates of conformity to ISO 9001:2008: in Russian and English languages.
During the ceremony the General Director of SGS Minsk Iouri Iasinski noted that although Minsk Automobile Plant was certified for the first time as early as in 2001, MAZ has never stopped developing their corporate quality management system. Particular attention is being paid to upgrade of equipment and professional training of personnel.
MAZ has put lots of efforts to bring its activities in conformity with ISO 9001:2008. The Quality Policy developed at the Minsk Automobile Plant is the ground for quality management system’s processes aiming at manufacture of competitive products satisfying consumers’ requirements.
The key principles of MAZ’ Quality Policy are:
- Cooperation with suppliers and consumers;
- Rational use of resources;
- Involvement of all employees.
On the basis of the Quality Policy annually MAZ develops measurable targets for the company as a whole that are enforced by General Director’s decree. Measurable targets for each department are then developed in accordance with company’s targets.
The activity for further enhancement of the quality management system will be fulfilled through the implementation of ISO 16949-2006 requirements.
Minsk Automobile Plant is one of the largest state enterprises of the Republic of Belarus for production of heavy-load vehicles as well as buses, trolley-buses, trailers and semi-trailers.
