The SGS Soil Testing Facility in Voronezh will analyze 70000 ha of cultivated fields
The SGS Soil Testing Facility located in Voronezh started the implementation of a large research project focusing on agricultural soil in Central and South Russia.
The project will be carried out in the framework of the recently signed contract with one of the largest agricultural groups in Russia managing about 450 000 ha of arable land. Totally, during the period from July through September 2010, SGS will analyze 70 000 ha of cultivated fields.
The results obtained from soil samples analysis will be applied by SGS specialists to calculate best possible doses of mineral fertilizers to be introduced to the soil. Thanks to this in the future season the Group will be able to obtain the planned crop satisfying most up-to-date quality criteria. Consequently, the economic effectiveness of the crop producing companies-members of the Group will be boosted.
