SGS Vostok Limited is pleased to inform that the second surveillance audit of Terneyles JSC against the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC©) principles of sustainable forest management will take place from September 20 to 28, 2011 under the supervision of Accreditation Services International (ASI), which verifies the compliance with FSC© certification system’s rules and procedures. Also, from September 30 to October 6, 2011 the second surveillance audit of Amgu JSC, member of Terneyles Group, will take place.
The Terneyles Group includes 7 enterprises, which form a single production cycle for timber harvest and processing. The Group exercises its activity in Far East Russia on the area of 2481.6 thousand Ha. and employs 3,452 persons.
Forest management certification is an independent assessment that ensures forest management practices are in compliance with the internationally recognized standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC©). An FSC© accredited Forest Management certification from SGS assures buyers that timber has come from a forest which has been evaluated and certified as being managed according to the correct social, economic and environmental standards. SGS also offers Forest Product Chain-of-Custody certification that ensures the origins of timber as a raw material or product. SGS global FSC certification is performed under the terms of accreditation held by SGS South Africa (Pty) Ltd. (FSC-ACC-015) on behalf of the SGS Group.
All stakeholders are requested to provide their remarks and suggestions in connection with the upcoming audits through email or fax indicated below.
