SGS Oil Testing Facility in Novokuybyshevsk Has Been Upgraded
The SGS Oil Testing Facility in Novokuybyshevsk started operations in 2003 and has been servicing, primarily, refineries and chemical plants located in Samara Region, Central Russia. Since then, the volume of orders for oil products testing in Central Russia has significantly grown. Today, the laboratory has got subsidiaries in Ufa, Nizhnekamsk, Syzran, Yaroslavl as well as provides support to chemical plants located in Siberia and in Far East Russia. Initially, SGS conducted mostly quantity inspection, but lately customers’ interests has shifted towards quality analysis. Besides, the demand for complex studies went up.
Developing in accordance with those trends, today Novokuybyshevsk facility analyses full range of oil products, including fuel oil, diesel oil, refined oil, gas oil, gasoline, liquefied gas. The lab’s accreditation scope covers over 160 testing methods as per Russian and international standards. The facility is capable of conducting detailed oil analysis enabling companies to develop flowsheets for oil refining. Characteristics of product mixes and optimum proportions for blending are being determined. Moreover, in 2011 the facility’s scope has been complemented by environmental accreditation covering chemical analysis of natural, sewage and reservoir. In September 2011, the laboratory moved to new premises with are over 600 sq. m, which allowed to increase its capacity.
