New Technical Regulations of the Customs Union Included in the SGS Accreditation Scope
We are glad to bring to your notice that since March 27, 2013 SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian member of the SGS Group, has extended its scope of accreditation. As a result, SGS Vostok Limited gained the ability to execute assessment of products conformity against the requirements of the following four Technical Regulations of the Belarus-Kazakhstan-Russia Customs Union (CU TR):
- CU TR 004/2011 “On safety of low-voltage equipment”
- CU TR 010/2011 “On safety of machines and equipment”
- CU TR 016/2011 “On safety of apparatuses working on gaseous fuel”
- CU TR 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices”
The relevant alteration was introduced into the Register of Certification Bodies of the Customs Union on April 17, 2013.
The new accreditation certificate РОСС RU.0001.11АИ01 was issued as a result of the successful verification of SGS Vostok Limited activities by the expert commission, which included technical experts and a representative of the Russia Federal Agency for Accreditation. In the course of the audit conducted in February 2013 members of the commission got convinced in the competence of the certification body’s staff, their knowledge of conformity assessment procedures with regard to the above mentioned Technical Regulations as well as their knowledge of national standards harmonized with those Technical Regulations.
It is worth reminding that SGS Vostok Limited’s accreditation scope had already included three Technical Regulations of the Customs Union: CU TR 007/2011 "On safety of products intended for children and teenagers”, CU TR 008/2011 "On safety of toys" and CU TR 005/2011 “On safety of packaging”.
Notably, six certification bodies only in the total territory of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia possess such a wide accreditation scope in terms of mandatory product conformity assessment against Technical Regulations of the Customs Union and SGS Vostok Limited is the only one among those certification bodies to be member of an international Group. This makes SGS unique partner for manufacturers and suppliers of products from all over the world having commercial interests in the Customs Union market.
“More and more product categories marketed in Russia are being regulated by Technical Regulations of the Customs Union”, commented Vladimir Ovcharov, Head of Product Certification and Verification Services at SGS Vostok Limited. “Having the right to issue certificates of conformity and to register declarations of conformity against seven Technical Regulations of the Customs Union we are happy to support our clients in entering the market of all the three member countries of the Union”.
