SGS to start conformity assessment of softlines against Technical Regulations of the Customs Union
We are glad to bring to your notice that end November SGS Vostok Limited, Russian member of the SGS Group, has been included into the Common Register of Certification Bodies of the Belarus-Kazakhstan-Russia Customs Union with regard to the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union CU TR 017/2011 “On safety of light industry products”. This means that SGS Vostok Limited is now allowed to carry out conformity assessment of such product categories as footwear, sewing and knitted articles, leather and fur articles, machine-made carpeting and carpet articles, leather haberdashery.
Besides, SGS Vostok Limited scope has been extended with regard to the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union CU TR 007/2011 “On safety of products intended for children and teenagers”. Although accredited to provide conformity assessment against CU TR 007/2011 since January 2013, not all the products falling under the scope of this Technical Regulation were included in SGS accreditation scope. From now on, the SGS accreditation scope has been complemented by such product categories as light industry products for children and teenagers, including footwear, sewing and knitted articles, leather and fur articles, leather haberdashery for children and teenagers.
All in all, 98 HS-codes have been added to the SGS accreditation scope in the framework of the mandatory product conformity assessment system of the Customs Union. This scope extension is to strengthen the service portfolio SGS offers to retailers, manufacturers and distributors of consumer goods exporting to or importing to Russia.
