In June 2014, JSC SIBEKO has been certified by SGS against ISO 9001:2008. The SGS certificate proves that the Quality Management System in SIBEKO has been operating effectively. The SGS certificate will be valid from 1 June 2014 to 30 June 2017 on the condition of annual verification of the certified Quality Management System with the following scope: production and sale of thermal energy, electric energy and power.

Alexander Pelipasov, General Director of JSC SIBEKO, emphasized: “The main benefit of Management System Certification is to get confirmation by independent experts that the company is moving in the right direction.”

In 2012, employees of the SIBEKO Development Directorate started to align the available Quality Management System with ISO 9001:2008 requirements. When getting prepared to certification, a number of actions has been implemented such as development of business processes, development of a corporate QMS portal, establishment of a single database of internal regulatory documents, implementation of a mechanism to conduct internal audit of business processes. The active involvement of personnel and assistance of employees in business processes development and internal audits implementation played crucial role for the project’s success.

“It is no secret that for the last several years national legislation has been toughening control over natural monopolies and energy sector players. We believe that compliance leads to sustainability,” said Development Director of SIBEKO Nikolay Lysenko. “We have been building our management system with the objective to increase company’s efficiency in a regular and systematic way. In 2013, we realized our processes were close to comply with the international quality standard. Then the decision was taken to go through ISO 9001:2008 certification.”

As a result, SGS auditors confirmed that the activity of SIBEKO with regard to production and sale of thermal energy, electric energy and power complies with ISO 9001:2008 requirements. “The SGS audit demonstrated that SIBEKO has been capable to ensure continuous improvement through to the application of the international standard’s requirements, via the project approach and thanks to the implementation of the risk management system while achieving strategic goals,” said Konstantin Timoshechkin, Head of SGS Systems and Services Certification in Eastern Europe.
